  • The students in this classroom were using several upper-level thinking skills.  They used level 2.4 with the ability to tell what happened during the experiment.  2.5 was used to help them understand and draw a conclusion from what was learned during the experiment.  6.1 was also used to change a previous hypothesis into one that fit the acquired knowledge.
  • Students could use Microsoft Excel to create tables and then use another program to turn that data into bar graphs to compare the time it took for each to dissolve.

  • 4.L.1.4  Explain how differences among animals of the same population sometimes give individuals an advantage in surviving and reproducing in changing habitats.
  • On Thinkfinity I found an activity called It's Tough to be a Leatherback.  Students could also do the Spark!Lab Inventor's notebook. 
  • Students could use their lab notebook and observe certain animals to learn about dominance heirarchy in populations.  They could record results and hypothesize why certain animals dominate.
  • Have students look up endangered species and what conservationists are doing to help them online.
